YACHTMASTER PREP BASIC 5 DAYS PREP +  2 DAYS EXAM

E71_7996#LR_FHD-2YACHTMASTER PREP
This is the booking form for our 5 days yachtmaster prep followed by an exam that depending of the number of candidates takes up to  days.  This course is recommended if you already have a thorough knowledge of the theory up to the Yachtmaster level and extensive sailing experience ideally in the Solent area. A Yachtmaster is capable of skippering the yacht on extended offshore passages by day or night. He or she will essentially be a much more experienced Coastal Skipper and can do the same things more smoothly, for longer periods and in more arduous conditions.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Before joining the course, students should have the pre-requisite experience outlined above, navigation theory to the RYA COASTAL SKIPPER / YM SHOREBASED level and a thorough knowledge of the Collision Regulations. If desired we can set up a shorebased course before the start of the practical training. Alternatively own study to prepare for the course is highly recommended. DSC03632

FURTHER REQUIREMENTS
50 days aboard, 5 days as skipper, 2500 miles logged, 5 passages of over 60 miles including 2 overnight and 2 as skipper (Half the qualifying seatime must have been conducted in tidal waters). VHF radio operators certificate and a valid first aid certificate. CONTACT us if you desire to have one of these corses beforehand.

FOR COMMERCIAL ENDORSEMENTS
Should you plan to use your certificate commercially you need to have a valid Sea Survival Course, PPR Online Course and a Seafarer Medical Fitness exam.
