YACHTMASTER PRACTICAL PRO
This is your booking link for the yachtmaster practical pro. This course is directed to people who intend to use their certificate commercially. There are 3 options for this course which takes overall 14 days. You can book the training only if you have already completed the sea survival and first aid or you can add the first aid and sea survival onto this course at an additional cost. These two one day courses take place in the weekend in the middle of the training. Should you not require the sea survival or first aid then you can use this weekend with your instructor to work on any weakness you might have. Should you require one or both of these courses (both requirements for the yachtmaster) then you spend the weekend doing these courses whilst sleeping on board our training yacht.
COURSE CONTENTS
- 5 days of tidal training
- RYA Sea Survival (1 day on a weekend)
- RYA First Aid (one day on a weekend)
- RYA Yachtmaster Prep-Week (5 days) with exam afterwards (2 days)

TIDAL TRAINING
In the first five days the focus is on tidal navigation and calculation of tidal heights and currents. You will get to know the training area very well as we are staying in different destinations every night. Expect long hours and tough training!
SEA SURVIVAL AND FIRST AID WEEKEND
For these two speciality courses we spend the weekend near the location of the one day courses. Should you not require any of these two courses the weekend is intended to be a little bit of a breather and give you the opportunity to work on your weaknesses!
YACHTMASTER PREP
This is it- the final step towards your yachtmaster. We will have an intense skills and drill straining. Expect the most demanding night passages and here you need to use any tool of your toolbox to prep for your yachtmaster. Do not forget: to pass the yachtmaster you require a solid theoretical fundament and you must know the colregs, meteorology and passage planning inside out.
THE EXAM
The exam takes max 2 days depending on participants and which yachtmaster you are aiming for. Your instructor will give you an honest feedback whether you are ready for your exam and provides you with a detailled debrief. For the exam you will have prepared a passage plan- the examiner will inform you on the passage a couple of days prior to the exam. First things first- upon arrival the examiner expects a perfectly clean boat and all documents and paperwork neatly and completely prepared. Make sure you have all certificates, logbook, passport photos and the application form filled out which will be handed to you by the instructor prior to the exam. Now it is upon you- to prove that you are indeed a yachtmaster!
